Man In Training Pledge
(1) I WILL celebrate the heritage of the strong and wise African-Americans that have come before me and made possible the opportunities that I enjoy today;
(2) I WILL show respect for myself by respecting others and by always treating others the way I would like to be treated;
(3) I WILL be strong enough to not follow the crowd, instead, I will LEAD others by living a life that honors God, my family and myself;
(4) I WILL model integrity in all that I do – if I say it, you can count on it; I am claiming a manhood of accountability and responsibility, building a legacy for all those that will come after me;
(5) I AM, a Man in Training
Manhood Training Ministry (MTM) Mission & Purpose
We are seeking to assist young boys as they make the journey from boyhood to strong Christian manhood. In this ministry we will utilize prayer, specific informational instruction and developmental activities. We have identified four specific areas upon which we will focus and use to measure the success of the MTM. We will empower the young men by increasing their appreciation and understanding of the following.
Definitions of Real Christian Manhood – responsibility, accountability, integrity, self-reliance, self-respect, respect for others, importance of community
Importance of God in our Lives – deeper relationship with and knowledge of Our Risen Savior
Self Awareness and Self Esteem – strong sense of who they are, who they can become and the legacy of achievement to which every Black man can lay claim
Importance of We – lessons and examples on the importance and power of coming together with other Black men for the betterment of our families, communities and all the things we hold dear

Please keep one for yourself. Please add your signature in the spaces provided on the form and bring one of the completed forms with you to the MTM session this Friday.
